The PyCon UK Conference is a new European Python conference to be held in Birmingham, UK, on September 8th & 9th 2007. If you are interested in meeting with us, please drop us a note so that we can arrange a meeting.
We will again be contributing two talks to conference. Both presentations will be available for download after the conference from our Presentations and Talks section.
Please refer to the PyCon UK talk schedule for details on times and location.
Marc-Andre Lemburg, CEO of eGenix, will be giving this presentation.
The talk presents ways of designing Python applications to be Unicode-aware from ground up. After a short introduction to Unicode, the talk touches upon issues with auto-conversion, detection of character sets, ways to deal with storage of Unicode data (in databases, text files, spreadsheets, etc.). We also present the idea of an online translation manager that collects string to be translated and provides ways to have them translated to various languages. This technique has been put to good use in a large financial trading system platform.
Marc-Andre Lemburg, CEO of eGenix, will be giving this presentation.
Enjoy !
