The PyCon DE conference series has started in 2011 with a very successful event in Leipzig, organized by the Python User Group Leipzig along with help from several other volunteers from Germany and Austria and supported by the Python Software Verband e.V. This year it is being held again in Leipzig from October 29 - November 3rd.
The conference is mostly held in German, but there are a few
English talks as well, and English speaking international attendees are generally very welcome.
Marc-André Lemburg, CEO of eGenix, has helped kick-start the PyCon DE series. Since we always like to meet up face-to-face with the many people we know from the Python communities and appreciate getting to know new people from these communities, please do get in touch with us, so that we can arrange a meeting.
At this year's PyCon DE, eGenix will be giving a talk about a new Open Source product we released earlier this year at EuroPython:
eGenix PyRun™ combines a Python interpreter with an almost complete Python standard library into a single easy-to-use executable, no installation version of Python, making the distribution of a Python interpreter to run based scripts and applications to Unix based systems as simple as copying a single file.
PyCon DE is a community conference, organized by volunteers. Since we want to continue developing the conference and improving it, we will need discuss extensions of the concepts and perhaps even the structure of the organization. This talk will start with a short historic overview of how the series was initiated, the basic concepts behind it and then open up for a discussion of possible changes.
